let's work together to

Assist WISER’s COVID-19 response and relief efforts

Our goal
To meet the essential needs of WISER students and families while they are homebound due to COVID-19
The Challenge

WISER students told us their families are struggling to put food on the table every day

The closure of WISER’s campus has created a need to support students now under lockdown at home with their struggling families. Muhuru Bay has been subject to strict measures to contain COVID-19, such as closing schools, markets, and businesses, imposing stay-at-home orders and curfews, and shutting down international borders. These measures are deeply needed, but they reveal existing disparities and create new challenges for families like inadequate healthcare and food insecurity.

Our Solution

WISER has been supporting students and responding to the pandemic since the first case in March

Donations will help support staff with distributing monthly relief packages containing over 20 pounds of non-perishable food and hand soap. Girls will also receive free, safe transportation to campus and come in small groups to maintain social distancing.

Your Impact

Continuing distance-based physical, emotional, and academic support WISER students

In addition to the support staff facilitating our COVID-19 relief efforts, WISER teachers and academic administrators have successfully transitioned to distance learning and mentorship at the request of our dedicated students, and we are the only educational program in the region to do so. 90% of girls are engaging in these academic opportunities and are submitting assignments on time, and educators are spending an average of six days per week coordinating these activities.
