We never want to withhold medical care or medication because we can't afford it.
At Rehema Home, we currently care for 96 babies, toddlers, kids, tweens, teens, and young adults between our two Children's Homes in Kenya. Many in our care are HIV-positive, and some come to us sick, neglected, malnourished, and abused. We want to provide routine and emergency medical care and medication for our youth when they need it—not just when we can afford it. Typically in Kenya, medical care and medication must be paid for upfront and, for our youth, without the help of insurance.
We created the Harry Kimanzi Emergency Medical Fund to help pay for medical expenses.
On May 26, 2015, one of our beloved young adults, Harry Kimanzi, died unexpectedly due to cardiac complications. Harry was selfless, resilient, and joyful despite experiencing major health setbacks. In honor of his memory, we've chosen to name our medical fund after him. Watch his story below:
Be a medical hero & pay it forward so our youth can receive medical care & medication.
