Many Malians do not have access to basic and preventative healthcare.
ACFA is a non-profit founded to provide a future to Mali's most vulnerable children. We do this by providing a home, nutrition, education, healthcare, and more to the children. We currently have 12 children in our program and are building out a new complex to accommodate 100 new children in the next 5 years. In this complex we want to provide a health clinic that is accessible to the children and the surrounding communities. Our primary goal is providing services for preventative health care.
The top causes of combined morbidity and mortality in the country of Mali are malaria, diarrheal diseases, malnutrition, neonatal preterm birth and sepsis, and lower respiratory infections. Underlying causes of these maladies include maternal and child malnutrition, unsafe water and sanitation, and unsafe sex. Provision of care in this population can be divided into care designed to prevent illness and care designed to treat illness. Preventative care focuses on immunization of the population.
Welcome to ACFA!
Build a Community Health Clinic in Zorokoro, Mali to provide preventative healthcare
The new complex, Zorokoro, will include a healthcare clinic that will support thousands of people living in Zorokoro and its surrounding 7 villages. This amounts to approximately 13,000 people who will have direct or indirect access to the clinic. These communities will receive medications and consultations for preventative medical care. This will also directly benefit the vulnerable children of A Child for All and many other families around the village of Zorokoro.
This is especially significant in 2019 as the Malian Administration has rolled out a new initiative to expand preventative healthcare to young children in Mali. ACFA wants to use our expertise working with vulnerable children to become a change agent in improving children's health.
We are seeking funding now for the first of three phases to this project. This initial phase is to build the external structure of the clinic at Zorokoro. This includes building the foundation, pouring concrete, masonry for the floor. These steps will cost $3,650. The total budget for building the clinic is $40,000. Any contribution that can be given would be greatly appreciated towards helping us complete this first phase!
By donating to this campaign, you can help provide preventative care in Mali.
By helping ACFA to build this community clinic, we will be providing communities with access to healthcare for the first time. A majority of these communities do not have a clinic close by, and have to walk dozens of miles to reach the nearest clinic. Malians are some of the most prone people in the world to diseases such as Malaria, diarrheal disease, malnutrition, and prenatal health issues. ACFA's clinic will focus on providing the people with preventative care to combat these health risks.

This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
