Neonatal period being the most critical period of a child’s survival, death of the infant in the first 28 days from the day of birth (0-27) is called neonatal mortality.
As per reports, child survival possibilities are increasing year on year and infant death rates are reducing worldwide. Data show that in India infant death rates have reduced down from 8.67 lakh in 2016 to 8.02 lakh in 2017.

Ekam's mission is to bring about an improvement in the health and well-being of the mother & child by working in the RMNCH+A [Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and adolescent health] sector by facilitating life-saving medical treatment to children needing support, working with & contributing to the enhancement of service delivery within the Public Health System, empowering communities; guiding their decision making, building and sustaining a healthy community culture
Reduced neonatal/ infant and maternal mortality
Ekam work towards preventing infant deaths, ensuring an improvement in the maternal health status, bringing overall well being/gross happiness of the community, increased the awareness on the topics of Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health, improved sanitation, empowerment of women and youth, building the capacity of the community, encouraging community ownership of healthcare in their respective area.
