Millions of new-born babies across India need your support
Neonatal period being the most critical period of a child’s survival, death of the infant in the first 28 days from the day of birth (0-27) is called neonatal mortality.
Due to illiteracy and superstitions, as well as cultural issues, mothers in rural areas are not able to obtain care during pregnancy, resulting in preterm and malnourished babies, resulting in unnecessary deaths. Also the lack of adequate facilities in public hospitals and lack of training of health workers makes it worse.
The right to a healthy life – what every child deserves
Ekam's mission is to bring about an improvement in the health and well-being of the mother & child by working in the RMNCH+A [Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and adolescent health] sector by providing life-saving medical treatment to children in need, providing medical equipment to hospitals and training to health workers. Ekam helps to empower communities through education, motivation and participation of stakeholders, to provide long term sustainability and prevention of disease.
Reduced neonatal/ infant and maternal mortality
Ekam works towards preventing infant deaths, and improvement in the maternal health status, bringing overall well being/gross happiness of the community. Ekam's work has shown results in terms of decreasing infant and maternal mortality rates where Ekam operates, compared to the rest of India. Multiple lives are saved everyday and communities are made stronger by Ekam's work.
33%-Ekam corpus fund
34%-Equipment to hospitals
20%-Coordination of camps
13%-Staff recruitment & training
This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
50%-More training camps
