Special Needs Camp in need of nursing station equipment.
Camp Jotoni is a full service special needs day, residential and respite camp located in Warren Twp. NJ. The demand for special needs camps and respite programs are on the rise. During the summers of 2015-2017, Camp Jotoni saw a 45% increase in enrollment, with increased need for medical, physical and behavioral care services. Our goal is to serve anyone, regardless of the nature or complexity of their disabilities, with the highest quality of care.

Additional equipment will improve and expand care for special needs campers
A hospital bed and Hoyer lift (an assistive medical device for lifting individuals with mobility limitations) will improve the quality of medical care provided to campers. The lift provides a safe method to transfer the camper in and out of their wheelchair. The hospital bed offers these campers, many with complex physical and medical needs, a comfortable and safe place to receive care while attending camp.
This equipment will increase the number of campers with complex medical needs that can be served and take away barriers so all campers can fully enjoy the summer camp experience. With this state of the art technology, families will be able to fully embrace the respite opportunities the camp provides.
By donating $10, you can increase summer camp experiences for individuals with complex medical needs
There are very few special needs camps in/near Somerset County and even fewer that have the capability to accept individuals with complex physical and medical needs. Multiple staff are needed to safely assist campers with mobility issues in the nursing station which limits the number of additional enrollment of campers with the same level of mobility function to attend camp each season.
