There is an infrastructure gap in rural hospitals, so kids cannot be treated properly.
In the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, the infant mortality rate is 15.3%. Although there are 56 primary health centers, there is only 1 referral hospital for the entire district. However, the hospital and the health care centers are facing large equipment shortages, especially with more patients in the hospitals due to COVID-19. Providing new equipment will ensure the children are provided with the treatment they deserve and reduce the number of preventable deaths overall.
Buy new equipment and use the funds to properly service the current equipment
We will buy new equipment for the hospitals that need new equipment to treat children and service the existing infrastructure. Ekam does not want to replace the government system specifically, but rather complement it, so servicing the existing equipment properly will save money which can be used towards buying new equipment for hospitals that do not have certain equipment at all. By giving hospitals up-to-date and functional equipment, more children can be treated properly and lives saved.
Ekam bridges the gaps and make the hospitals more cost-effective, by providing the missing needs. Also, Ekam maintains the equipment in need of repair or service, immediately, to get the maximum use from it and help more children.
For each 3-5 new pieces of equipment donated, 100-200 more children can be treated and saved.
Your donation will go towards specific pieces of equipment for hospitals, such as warmers, infusion pumps, incubators, pulse oximeters, and glucometers. Just $100 can buy a glucometer for a hospital and with every 3-5 pieces of equipment donated, 100-200 more children can be treated and 100-200 more children's lives could be saved. This will greatly reduce the amount of preventable deaths, which is essential in this crisis because of less and less equipment available for these savable kids.

This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
