One in Eight Individuals in our Service Area go to Bed Hungry
In the wake of the COVID -19 pandemic, unemployment has soared and food insecurity is on the rise. In 2020 more than 54 million people in the US may face hunger because of the coronavirus. Here in Eastern Iowa, not only are we facing the challenges of the pandemic, as well as, the devastation caused from the costliest thunderstorm in US history.
Your donation is needed to help provide food security.
The Food Reservoir distributes over 10 million pounds of food annually to more than 160 community partners across seven counties. With help from our communities, we can make food security a reality for every household in East Central Iowa. HACAP's food reservoir programs include: a back pack program for children, a mobile food pantry and senior totes.
Every $1 donated equals 6 meals to those in need.
"As the unprecedented pandemic causes our local and global economies to come to a halt, we're continuing to see unemployment skyrocket. Even before the crisis, many eastern Iowa residents were struggling to make ends meet, and now many more are experiencing crippling financial hardship, especially with schools and many businesses forced to close. HACAP food reservoir is committed to feeding everyone relying on us before the crisis and to meet the increasing need moving forward. "

This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
