Our goal
To provide accessories to children with hearing loss for functioning of their cochlear implant
The Challenge

Some parents cannot afford accessories and batteries for the cochlear implants of their children

Hearing impairment is a serious but grossly neglected condition in India. The country also suffers a huge economic impact due to lost productivity, higher unemployment, and lower wages for the hearing impaired. The real issue in India is the woeful inadequacy of facilities of any type for the deaf. The government of India has recently announced Government Insurance Schemes under which Cochlear Impant surgeries are done under free of cost.

Poor children with hearing disability are being operated under Government Insurance Schemes. The challenge found is that, post surgery the parents are not able to meet the cost of old, non functioning batteries and some accessories in due course of time which impairs the normal functioning of the Cochlear implants. This prevent the children from achieving normal speech and language skills.

Our Solution

Fund support for needed accessories of cochlear implant for children improves hearing ability

For children with profound hearing loss and had undergone Cochlear Implant surgery under Government Insurance Schemes at free of cost, but could not afford for replacement of old/non functioning batteries and other accessories of their Cochlear implant will be identified and supported for their needed accessories.

Your Impact

By donating to this cause, you can help a hearing impaired child achieve its normal speech

Your donation will help meet the needs of children with hearing loss and operated with Cochlear Implant surgery. The funds will be used for poor children who cannot afford for new batteries and other accessories of their Cochlear Implant which provided on time will enable the normal functioning of the Cochlear implant and thereby help those children achieve their normal speech and language skills.

$2,500 Campaign Booster Funding

This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
