Homeless people in Salem are struggling to find food during the quarantine.
Quarantine to some is a privilege. It means you have a roof over your head and somewhere to stay while the pandemic wreaks havoc outside. Many of the homeless residents of Salem do not have access to even the most basic necessities- food and shelter. With so many residents of Salem living below the poverty line, COVID-19 is taking a huge toll on families. People are out of work, have little to no income coming in, and are struggling to put food on the table.
We want to provide basic food supplies to help the homeless survive during this crisis.
Our volunteers in Salem are fighting to tackle food insecurity amid the COVID-19 crisis. Join us in making a difference today. We are raising money to directly benefit the homeless. Many already have trouble finding food for their families, and COVID-19 has made this challenge even bigger. Continued support is needed now more than ever.
$21 can feed an entire family for a whole month.
Your donation will go directly toward feeding families in need. Our volunteers will purchase bags of rice, lentils, oil, vegetables for families and food that will be delivered directly to families and the homeless.
87%-Buying food (rice & lentils)
13%-Meal preparation costs
This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
90%-45 additional families fed
10%-1,000 more meals prepared
