Villagers in rural India lack Access to Healthcare
Healthcare is a necessity for everyone. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for villagers who live far away from the nearest hospital to receive adequate medical care. Oftentimes, having to travel long distances isn’t feasible, and is an unnecessary burden. This is a burden many of us who are fortunate do not face. Although we are fortunate, the worldwide pandemic is severely hurting us all, especially those who are less fortunate, and it is our job to help fix that.
Utilizing TITA's tech platform and training healthcare workers to provide telemedicine
Just like the US counties, Indian states are divided into districts called mandals. Each mandal contains about 30 villages. Every village has a healthcare worker, and every village has government representation. The money we raise will train the healthcare workers to use the app to help villagers receive proper healthcare.
TITA (Telangana Information Technology Association) will provide the technology that they are offering for free as it is a health-related service.
This service will be distributed through an electronic device. Many of the villagers we will be targeting have access to cell phones which will allow for the distribution of the telemedicine service to them. For the technological aspect, an app called T-Consult will pair the healthcare workers with the recipients. This app recently connected 782 villagers with doctors, and they are expanding it to more districts.
After each appointment, the doctor will make a medical decision on what the patient needs and will send a prescription if needed. TITA currently has hundreds of doctors signed up to use their app. They also have a list of all the doctors' availabilities to schedule appointments. The money we raise is used to train the healthcare worker, and secondly to support the T-Consult app that will ultimately make the pairing between both the healthcare worker and recipient become much more viable.
For every $1 that we raise can help up to 6 people
It is known that sharks kept in fish tanks won't grow to their full size. A shark in a fish tank will grow eight inches, but in the ocean, it will grow to eight feet or more. The same thing can be said about everyone’s mindset today. Every donation earned will be used to help a mandal (group of thirty villages) have access to healthcare. With your help, we can help save the lives of hundreds of people, and further expand our target of helping many more Indian villages.
