Wildfires have devastated regions of California & Oregon
The wildfires in California and Oregon have claimed over twenty lives and burned entire communities to the ground. In California, the wildfires are being referred to as the worst natural disaster to hit the state.
Mandatory evacuations and destroyed homes have forced thousands to flee. These families are now staying in shelters, with friends & family, and many have fled north to Oregon to escape the wildfires. Living in poverty, now amplified by wildfire devastation, means many families just trying to survive are forced to choose between food & diapers.
This fund will provide relief to children & women in the form of cloth diapers & re-usable feminine hygiene items as part of longer-term recovery assistance to help those impacted meet basic hygiene needs. All donations to this fund will exclusively support relief and recovery efforts from these fires, through our partner agency The Rebecca Foundation's active California & Oregon.
Provision of diapers and hygiene kits will improve basic sanitation, life quality, & dignity
Children are the most vulnerable population when disaster strikes. For young infants and children, who depend upon a supply of diapers for basic sanitation and hygiene, a disaster can be extremely devastating. Inadequate or no diapers, especially in times of stress, can lead to significant negative health consequences.
By donating as little as $10, you will help women & children with long term relief and recovery.
As these children and families have their diapering and hygiene needs solved, they are able to focus on other basic needs as part of recovery and rebuilding. All these steps combined help set these children and their families up for long term success.
