1 in 3 babies in Northeastern Wisconsin lack enough diapes to stay clean, dry, & healthy
When we think of about basic needs and poverty alleviation, we tend to think of food, clothing, shelter, & water. Diapers are an overlooked, yet much needed, item. Here in the United States, 1 in 3 families struggle to meet the basic diapering needs of their children. All babies deserve to be clean, dry and healthy.
Provision of diapers will increase sanitation and hygiene for children
Jake's Diapers partners with local agencies at addressing the root causes of poverty, to impact positive, long term changeBy collaborating with local agencies who are working on breaking the cycle of poverty, the long term impact of solving the basic need of diapers has a positive socio-economic impact in our community.
Diapers are a basic, yet often overlooked need. Struggling, low-income families in Northeast Wisconsin and beyond find themselves having to cut back on food, utilities, or childcare in order to provide diapers for their children. Disposable diapers can cost over $100/month for a healthy supply, and safety net programs such as WIC, Food Stamps, or Medicare do not cover diapers (cloth or disposable).
By donating as little as $10, you will help children have a better quality of life
By collaborating with local agencies who are working on breaking the cycle of poverty, the long term impact of solving the basic need of diapers has a positive socio-economic impact in our community. This can mean adding educational programs, caregiver access to employment, improved quality of food (more protein!) - all steps that set these babies up for long term survival and productive members of society.

Stories from Green Bay
Feb 7
It is amazing the impact diapers make- truly so much more than a diaper. It's hope, joy, and a hand up out of poverty. It's an honor to introduce you to a few of the families who received diapers, thanks to you:
- the Mom whose son was born with heart and gastrointestinal malformations, who cried when we handed her diapers she can't afford
- the grandma that lost her daughter last year and is raising her 1 1/2 year old granddaughter
- the homeless grandmother that somehow has 10 kids she is caring for that is not in good health herself
- the deaf person who has an infant and has no heat in her home
- the appreciative grandfather that has his children and grandchildren moving back in with him as they have lost their jobs and cannot afford diapers
Thanks for helping families in Green Bay. I can't wait to share more stories with you.
