Inadequate access to maternal healthcare & lack of health awareness is impacting mothers adversely.
In the state of Tamil Nadu, India, many women lack access to maternal health care and do not have the education/ awareness to understand the need for hygienic practices, which is resulting in a number of negative maternal health outcomes including premature birth, low-birth weight, maternal mortality, severe maternal morbidity, and increased risk of postpartum depression.
Women in rural communities are more likely to begin prenatal care late or not at all. Minimal education, low health literacy, unplanned pregnancies, unhealthy harmful practices, soci-economic and cultural factors, superstitions, family customs and poor transportation have all been associated with late or no prenatal care. This adversely impacts the mother and child mortality.
Grassroots level training and healthcare programs for mothers and healthcare mentors
Our solutions include training programs for mothers and community mentors in Maternal Healthcare programs, and healthy practices, and government supported programs. These training programs will create opportunities to improve access to a skilled maternal health workforce and leveraging the existing healthcare centers.

34%-Health awareness campaigns
This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
