let's work together to

Keep Kids Healthy Through Deworming!

Our goal
We are striving to get all students dewormed each quarter at all the KC partner schools.
The Challenge

Students in Rural Kenya Miss School Due to Parasitic Worms

Most of students at Kenya Connect’s partner schools live in homesteads without running water and electricity. Some families have water tanks that harvest water during the rainy season, but most collect water at streams, ponds, and bore holes. Most of the water is not treated and that coupled with the lack of hand washing results in children with parasitic worms that compromise their immune system and make them more susceptible to other diseases.

Our Solution

Deworming Has Been Effective in Helping Kids Stay Healthy!

In 2011, Kenya Connect began deworming programs at three of our partner schools with the assistance of a visiting team and local health professionals. Since that date, with the support of several churches, a National Honor Society and individual donors we are now deworming students at 22 of our 55 partner schools. Deworming in underdeveloped countries has been shown to be one of the most cost-effective means for keeping children healthy and in school.

Your Impact

By donating $10 you can help deworm five students for a year!

Your donation will help more students have access to deworming medication to keep them healthy and in-school. As we've been monitoring the effectiveness of hand washing in Wamunyu, we have learned that deworming coupled with hand washing has made a huge difference and has helped more students stay healthy. Will you help us reach the goal of 100% of partner schools being dewormed?
