Kannada rural school in Karnataka lacks basic educational resources.
The government elementary school, Bada, in rural Karnataka was about to close due to low student enrollment, lack of facilities and no English instruction that parents perceive as a necessity. This school was revitalized by the efforts of local youth with a promise to provide quality education and include English as a subject. The student enrollment has now increased from 2 to over 120, but still faces challenges of recruiting teachers, retaining students and inadequate government support.
Provide resources to fulfill the promise of affordable education in this rural community.
Provide resources to fulfill the promise of affordable education in this rural community. We will provide essential health and hygiene education, a TV to steam educational videos and the construction of a small library. This will supplement the limited staff, and motivate kids to continue their education. With a better equipped school, parents do not need to struggle in sending their children to far way and/or to unaffordable schools.
Additionally, kids can study in their native language, retain cultural values, and learn English as a supplemental language.
Your donation will help improve quality of education for a rural school to remain open.
Every child deserves access to quality education including hygienic practices. The funds will be used to buy books, reference materials and posters, basic library furniture and a TV to enhance the learning experience. Access to a TV will open up the world of on-line resources. At least 100 students will benefit each year for many years to come. Your $10 donation will help buy 10 books for the library, $20 donation will buy a chair, $30 will buy a bookshelf, $113 will buy a table.

This displays the maximum incremental additional funding the campaign could receive (Maximum Funding Amount (MFA) less Minimum Funding Goal)). For example, if the MFA is $100,000 and the MFG $10,000, it would show the difference of $90,000 here.
