After moving to the USA, he came to know about SEF through his brother, Karunakar. He started by attending a SEF event and sending an email requesting more information. Co-founder of the organization, Murali Krishnamurthy, called him personally and invited him to attend a meeting and join the core fundraising team for the Bangalore hospital, which was completed two years later in 2008. He leads multiple teams at SEF as capital projects coordinator to raise necessary funds to build hospitals and also, he helps with strategy and marketing to scale the organization.
